This Privacy Policy explains how Advocate Finder (operated by Mithila Stack) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use our website and related services.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the platform.

  • Account details: name, email, mobile number, password (stored in hashed form), and optional PAN or business identifiers.
  • Business registration fields such as GSTIN, authorised representative, district, and state when you register a business account.
  • Usage data: search filters, unlocked profiles, comparisons, credit purchases, and support tickets.
  • Payment-related metadata from our payment partners (we do not store full card numbers on our servers).

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to operate, secure, and improve Advocate Finder.

  • Create and authenticate your account, including OTP verification.
  • Process credit purchases and deliver unlocks and comparisons you request.
  • Respond to support requests and send service-related notices.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
  • Analyse aggregated usage to improve search quality and product features.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Advocate profile data

Advocate profiles may include names, registration numbers, court locations, practice areas, and case-related statistics derived from public or licensed sources. Contact details may be masked until unlocked with credits.

If you are an advocate and believe information about you is inaccurate or should be updated, contact us through Support. We will review requests in line with applicable law and our data sources.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers who help us host, send OTPs/emails, process payments, or provide analytics, under confidentiality obligations.
  • When you unlock or compare profiles, the platform discloses advocate information you are entitled to see under the product rules.
  • If required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required.

5. Cookies & similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, preferences (such as theme), and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may limit platform functionality.

6. Data retention

We retain account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and thereafter as needed for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and security purposes. You may request account deletion via Support; some records may be retained where the law requires.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable Indian law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Contact us via Support to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

9. Children’s privacy

Advocate Finder is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact Support and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Cross-border processing

Our infrastructure or service providers may process data in India or other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, we take steps consistent with applicable law to protect it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The “Last updated” date will change when we make material revisions. Continued use of the platform after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
